Jewish life is enriched by the sacred rituals that mark our most significant milestones, from birth to bar and bat mitzvah, wedding to anniversary, and end-of-life ceremonies. These traditions connect us to our ancestors, strengthen our identity, and ensure the continuity of our people. Celebrating these moments with loved ones creates memories that last a lifetime.
The Chabad Jewish Center of Steamboat is dedicated to supporting you during both joyful and challenging times. We believe in coming together to share life’s most meaningful milestones. Whether you are looking to celebrate, observe, or have a ceremony officiated, we are here for all your life-cycle needs.
From the joy of birth to the sorrow of loss, Chabad is here to assist you every step of the way, celebrating with you, guiding you, and offering comfort when needed.

WELCOME YOUR NEWBORN BABY
We celebrate the great blessing of a newborn with a ceremony that brings them into the covenant and bestows upon them a Hebrew name.
For a girl, we host a joyous baby-naming ceremony, while a boy is named at his Brit Milah.
A Brit Milah, also known as a bris, is the ceremony that welcomes a baby boy into the Jewish community through the ritual of circumcision on the eighth day of his life. We can help you connect with a Mohel (ritual circumciser), guide parents in understanding the ceremony, and co-officiate alongside the Mohel.
In these meaningful ceremonies, parents affirm their family’s participation in the eternal covenant between G‑d and the Jewish people, and their commitment to Jewish life for another generation. We work with families to design ceremonies that honor Jewish tradition while reflecting their unique needs and values.
BAR/BAT MITZVAH
Lessons:
Our young teens prepare for this important milestone through a combination of lessons and a curriculum tailored to their individual needs. Through engaging classes, hands-on activities, and meaningful experiences, participants gain pride in their Jewish identity and build a strong foundation for their journey ahead.
Bat Mitzvah lessons are taught by Chaya, while Bar Mitzvah lessons and Torah reading classes are taught by Rabbi Isaac.
We look forward to helping your child prepare for their special day with confidence, joy, and meaning, and to celebrating it together!
Ceremony:
We help officiate Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies and guide your child and family through every step of the service, creating a meaningful, personalized, and joyful celebration that honors this special milestone and leaves lasting memories for everyone involved.
WEDDING
Jewish Wedding: Celebrate Your Sacred Union
A Jewish wedding is not just a celebration; it is the holiest bond between two souls, joined together under the Chuppah according to the timeless traditions of the Torah. It marks the creation of a new Jewish home, built on love, faith, and commitment to Jewish life and values.
At Chabad of Steamboat, we are honored to guide couples through every step of this sacred journey, from premarital preparation and counseling to the personalized ceremony itself. Whether you are planning a small, intimate gathering or a large wedding celebration, we will ensure your special day is meaningful, spiritual, and truly unforgettable.
Rabbi Isaac will work with you to create a customized wedding ceremony that reflects your story, your values, and the beauty of Jewish tradition, including guidance on the Ketubah (Jewish marriage contract), Chuppah, Sheva Brachot, and more.
We look forward to celebrating this sacred milestone with you, marking the beginning of your lifelong journey together as one soul, united in joy and holiness.
END OF LIFE
End of Life & Afterlife: Honoring Life with Dignity and Eternal Meaning
Jewish tradition teaches that life is sacred from its first breath until its final moment, and that the soul’s journey continues beyond this world. The moments surrounding a person’s passing are among the most profound in life, deserving care, dignity, and spiritual guidance. At the Chabad Jewish Center of Steamboat, we are here to support you and your family through every step of this deeply emotional time, providing comfort, clarity, and practical assistance in accordance with Jewish law and tradition. We can offer guidance and support at every stage, assist with Jewish burial and funeral arrangements in coordination with the local Colorado Jewish burial society, or help with transferring to other cities or countries for burial. We also provide support with Kaddish and memorial prayers, including Yahrzeit and Yizkor, as well as unveiling ceremonies and memorial dedications, along with ongoing support for family members and loved ones. Each Jewish soul is precious and eternal, and ensuring a proper Jewish burial honors that sacred bond while bringing lasting merit to the departed.
YAHRZEIT AND KADDISH
At the Chabad Jewish Center of Steamboat, we are here to help families mark the milestone of Yahrzeit and honor the memory of loved ones. We can facilitate a minyan for Kaddish, guide you through the prayers, and provide support to ensure these sacred traditions are observed with meaning and dignity.
